Robert Barugahare, age 15
After Robert’s father died and his mother was diagnosed with AIDS, life became a struggle. Robert’s mother was too ill to continue working and getting food every day was difficult. Robert finished top of his class at primary school and was desperately keen to continue his education. There was, however, no money. Robert left school and started to work as a porter on different building sites. He didn’t earn a wage but got a single meal a day from his employer which was the only meal he ate. He adores football and hopes that the school team will be as good as Manchester United, his beloved football team. Robert also wants to join the local Boy Scouts group because he loves being outdoors. |
