Education is something that children all over the world take for granted, but for many in Uganda education is something they can only dream of. The Ugandan government have introduced Universal Primary Education, but after this secondary education is prohibitively expensive. Average school fees are almost x1.5 of the average income per person in Uganda.
Buloba, where the school is being built, does not have a secondary school and the majority of children would never get the chance to continue their education. This in turn means that they have no qualifications or vocational experience and therefore struggle to get jobs. Springs of Hope High School aims to improve this situation both for the children in Buloba as well as those who have been orphaned throughout Uganda, as a result of the LRA conflict or AIDS. |
